About The Organizer

Monica Blossom Hochberg & Ana Shoemaker

MONICA BLOSSOM is a conscious dance facilitator, events producer, community organizer, and social entrepreneur deeply committed to the healthy evolution of humanity through the power of movement, music and community. She is the founder of Ecstatic Dance Dallas, Ecstatic MoonDance, and other conscious dance and music events to elevate the health, hope, happiness, humor and harmony of humanity through connection and openheartedness. Monica is committed to social justice with a core passion for women's human rights and empowerment. Her bachelor's degree is English with a minor in Gender & Women's Studies. She's produced the One Billion Rising in Dallas since it's innagural year in 2013 and is a national partner to Dallas Faces Race through Dance Exchange in Washington, DC. She has trained with and passionately supports the work of Off the Mat Into the World for social justice globally. Monica is a mother to three who lives in Dallas, Texas since 1998.

ANA SHOEMAKER is a Social Artist, Momentum Source-ress for your sacred arts, and the Creatrix of Move Meditation and "Calm Through the Chaos", Professional Organizing. Ana is a Life/Art Process practitioner and Leadership Graduate from Tamalpa Institute and an Active Meditation Facilitator. This year, Ana brought the One Billion Rising dance into the county jail program, called Resolana, where she regularly teaches movement classes to female inmates. Ana's devotion is to help people find their freedom to discover, communicate, and express themselves from the resources of the body~mind~soul, and to find the clarity to keep up their momentum in these endeavors.
